Spain has finished as team runner-up at the Taranto 2026 Mediterranean Games, after defeating Morocco in the playoff for the silver medal.
The Spanish team put in a good performance at the Horse Club Terra Jonica and finished in second position, just behind France, which took the gold. The French team consisted of Thomas Lambert with Jackpot E.B., Jeremy Le Roy with Falkira de Mormoulins and Sofian Misraoui with Geniale Lulu.
Spain relied on Carlos Bosch Cebrián with Jolie van der Berghoeve KAR, Alex Codina Leria with London Blue, Pello Elorduy Ibarzabal with Champenoise de Rampan, and Bautista Rodríguez Debray with Vivoulette. The national team had to contest a jump-off against Morocco to decide the silver medal, in which Spain eventually prevailed to claim the second step of the podium.
The Moroccan team, which ultimately took the bronze, was made up of Ali Al Ahrach with Chac On JT Z, Abdeslam Bennani Smires with Mister d’Eclipse, El Ghali Boukaa with Ike 1348 and Abdelkebir Ouaddar with Festival d’Argouges.
