Kent Farrington has a special love affair with Aachen, a competition in which he won the Rolex Grand Prix and the Prix von Europa twice.
This year, the World Championship is being held in Aachen, and many eyes will be on Kent Farrington. And there is no shortage of reasons. In 2025, the American had an exceptional season, winning 16 international Grands Prix, nine of them five-star. In addition, he was crowned winner of the World Cup Final and returns to number one in the Longines FEI ranking.
But there is an added factor that places him among the leading candidates for the individual podium: his love affair with the Aachen arena.
Last season she won the European Grand Prix–Turkish Airlines with Myla, daughter of Crunch 3, a horse once ridden by Sergio Álvarez Moya. She also posted a clear round and four faults in the Nations Cup with Toulayna, whilst in the Rolex Grand Prix, with Greya, she picked up four faults in the second round, which earned her fifteenth place.
His history in Aachen further strengthens his candidacy. In 2019 he won the Grand Prix with Gazelle. Two years previously, in 2017, he triumphed in a 1.50-metre class. And alongside Voyeur, in 2014, he won the European Grand Prix and was second in the Rolex Grand Prix, a class in which he would finish fifth the following year.
