The tests for the 2023 Young Dressage Horse Selection Trials circuit, held at the CAVA Horse facilities in Sant Martí Vella, Girona, have concluded.
Over two days of competition, Wednesday 19th and Thursday 20th July, the riders and their future stars took to the arena to demonstrate the worth of these young horses.
Once all the tests were completed and the averages calculated, the final standings ended up as follows:
In the 4-year-old category, first place goes to “Sanador FS”, ridden by Marc Vila Amils, who finished with a total average over both days of 76.400%. Second place goes to “Uleña de Tacón” and Eva María Pérez, who scored a total average of 75.800%. Third place goes to “Nube A”, ridden by Silvia Hernando Morant, with a total average of 75.800%.
In the 5-year-old category, the standings were as follows: In first place, “Cobre de Aladro” ridden by Isaac Fernández Collar achieved a total percentage of 76.600%. In second place, we have “Ibero Sinia” and Joan Antón Mila López with an average of 73.950%. Lastly, in third position are “Tercio Viejo de Cartajena” and Javier Mesa Kouperholtz with a final average of 72.300%.
In the 6-year-old category, first place goes to “Ricobayo” and Olaia Aguilar Marimon with a total percentage of 75.000%. Second place in the final classification goes to “Pintor de Aladro” and Isaac Fernández Collar with an average of 73.900%. Third place is taken by “Nevado HR” and Javier Mesa Kouperholtz, who made mistakes on the second day and had to be eliminated.
Finally, in the 7-year-old class, the rankings are as follows: First place went to “Latino JAV II” and José Manuel Lucena Estrada with a final average of 71.814%. Second place went to “Pirata CA” and Xavier Ciprés Rivero with a final average of 64.091%.
The talent shown in the dressage arena by these combinations has demonstrated the promising quality of these young horses. We are eager to see how they develop!
The next date for the Young Horse Selection Trials will take place on the 24th and 25th of August at the Hípica El Pedregal equestrian facilities in Valencia.
