Vigo d’Arsouilles is one of those names that form part of the recent history of international show jumping.
World champion alongside Philippe Le Jeune and the star of some of the major competitions of his era, the Belgian stallion not only stood out for his results in the arena, but has extended his influence through offspring with a notable presence in international competitions.
Born in 1998, Vigo d’Arsouilles is a son of Nabab de Rêve and Illico d’Arsouilles, out of Fleuri du Manoir.
Its origins feature some of the bloodlines that have shaped European show-jumper breeding, with names such as Quidam de Revel on its sire's side. On the dam's side, d'Arsouilles has also produced numerous horses with international results.
Her sporting career was closely linked to the aforementioned rider. The partnership achieved its greatest success in 2010, when it won the individual World Championship at the FEI World Equestrian Games in Lexington.
Those titles were joined by important tours, as part of the Belgian team. Among his results are victories in Nations Cups such as the one in Gijón in 2010 and La Baule, where he competed successfully in different editions.
Her last international results came in 2012, the year in which she participated in the London Olympic Games.
However, Vigo d’Arsouilles, as well as bringing joy in the arena, was a great sire. The stallion has thousands of registered offspring, of whom over 300 have reached at least the 1.45-metre level, while nearly 200 have competed at 1.50 metres.
Especially significant is the figure that almost a hundred descendants have competed in 1.60-metre classes.
Among his best-known offspring are names such as Vagabond de la Pomme, Fair Light van’t Heike, Fasther and Ego van Orti.
