The celebrated mare Samedi Rien concluded her career in Spain with a victory in the 83rd Anniversary Grand Prix at the La Zarzuela Racecourse in Madrid. This win not only represents her thirteenth victory, but also a glorious farewell at the racecourse where she triumphed repeatedly.
Samedi Rien, ridden by Czech jockey Václav Janáček and trained by Guillermo Arizkorreta, was the favorite in the mile race for fillies, where she beat her competitor Spirituale by three-quarters of a length in a spectacular finish. With this result, the mare accumulated €243,400 in prize money in Spain alone, in addition to €84,000 earned in France, the United Arab Emirates, and England.
Samedi Rien's future is now projected in breeding, planned for 2025, although he could run one last time in December in Deauville (France).
