In a complex rescue operation, firefighters from the Valencia Consortium managed to save a horse that had fallen into a swimming pool in the town of Bétera, in the Valencian Community. The quick action of the owner and some veterinarians prevented the animal from drowning, keeping its head above water until the firefighters arrived.
The complex rescue operation involved draining the pool, using two powerful pumps that removed nearly 80.000 liters of water. Consortium personnel also had to remove obstacles hindering the rescue, cutting tree branches to allow a crane access to the pool's edge. Once all necessary precautions were taken, firefighters fitted the horse with a special harness, essential for attaching and lifting it with the crane.
After a joint and coordinated effort, the horse was finally rescued from the pool. It was a moment of relief for both the owners and the rescue team.
This rescue highlights the importance of a quick and effective response to emergency situations involving animals, as well as how teamwork in these situations can make a big difference in terms of the animal's health.
