Following the initial get-togethers and the opening parade held today, the competition gets underway tomorrow and will run until next Sunday as part of the 5th Andalucia October Tour
Vejer, 1st October 2025. The initial get-togethers and opening parade marked the official start of the Spanish Youth Show Jumping Championship today, although it will be tomorrow when the more than 160 riders and 180 registered horses begin competing to secure the coveted national titles in each of their categories. There will be 30 riders participating in the children's category; 55 in juniors; 25 in young riders; 39 in ponies (alevines) and 11 in children's*. In addition, 57 riders and 80 horses will take part in the complementary events.
The participating riders have taken part in the opening parade of the Children's Jumping Championship, in which the Andalusian and Madrid delegations were the largest, with 27 representatives each. Close behind were the Basque (24 riders) and Asturian (21) teams. There are also representatives from Aragon, the Balearic Islands, the Canary Islands, Cantabria, Castile and León, Catalonia, Extremadura, Galicia and Murcia.
The competition will kick off tomorrow, Thursday 2 October, with the first Children’s qualifiers at 1.15m; Juniors at 1.25m and Juniors* at 1.35 metres in the main Milton sand arena starting from nine in the morning. On this same arena, at 17:15, the familiarisation session for Children’s* will take place.
Meanwhile, the Baloubet du Rouet arena (pista 8) will host the supplementary 1.30m, 1.20m and 1.10m classes from 11:00 am. The children's category familiarisation session is scheduled for 4:00 pm.
In addition, parallel to this Championship, the North-South Pony League Final will be held. The first events for them will take place in the Big Star arena (pista 18) starting at 13:00.
