Luis Fernando Larrazábal yesterday put the finishing touch on a brilliant performance at the Santo Domingo 2026 Central American and Caribbean Games by winning the individual bronze medal in the Obstacle Jump final alongside Baroness.
The day, held on August 6, brought the Jumping competition to a close with a demanding individual final consisting of two rounds, in which the best pairs of the championship fought for the medals.
Larrazábal showcased his excellent form and, after two well-executed rounds, secured third place on the podium with Baroness. The silver medal went to Colombian Simón Arango, riding Kadar HBC, while the gold was won by Mexican Fernando Parroquín Delfín with Escudero SDN.
With this result, the Venezuelan rider completes a Games to remember, adding three medals in the Jumping discipline.
His championship began in the best possible way when he was crowned champion of the speed event, where he delivered an impeccable performance with Baroness to take the gold. A day later he was back on the podium as part of the Venezuelan team that won the team bronze medal, alongside Pablo José Barrios, Alejandro Esteban Karolyi, and Anselmo Rafael Alvarado.
The individual bronze medal won this Thursday highlights the remarkable consistency of the Larrazábal-Baroness pair, a consistency they also demonstrated throughout the championship. The mare performed admirably on all three days of competition, allowing the Venezuelan rider to remain among the top contenders from the start to the final round of the Games.
Congratulations!
