Lottie Fry and Glamourdale have rewritten their names in the history of Dressage.
Four years after being crowned world champions in Herning 2022, the British female rider and the stallion have repeated the feat at the FEI World Championships Aachen 2026, returning home with two gold medals.
The week in Aachen ended up becoming a real dream for Fry's team. Great Britain won the team silver medal, while the British rider added two individual golds to her record with Glamourdale, dominating both the Grand Prix Special and the Grand Prix Freestyle.
The first of the major individual triumphs came on Friday, when Fry and Glamourdale claimed world gold in the Special. Just a day later they returned to the Aachen arena to face the Freestyle and rounded off their World Championship in the best possible way: with a second gold medal.
The result also has a historical dimension. Fry achieved an unprecedented individual world double for British dressage, adding a new chapter to a career that had already reached the very top in Herning 2022. There, she and Glamourdale were also crowned world champions, and four years later they have shown that they remain part of the absolute elite of the discipline.
However, the post-competition images also showed the other side of a World Championship: the one experienced far from the arena. Glamourdale appeared wearing his medals in the stables while receiving the attention and affection of the people who are part of his daily life. Fry wanted to publicly thank the work of the entire team that makes these results possible, as well as the support of her sponsors.
However, the rider saved her most special words for Glamourdale, whom she described as the most special horse in the world. A bond that was once again reflected both inside and outside the competition arena during a week that her entire team will hardly forget.
Aachen 2026 thus leaves another page for the history of Lottie Fry and Glamourdale. From Herning 2022 to Aachen 2026, the British combination has managed to remain at the very top of the international scene and once again conquer the world title four years later.
Two individual golds, a team silver and, above all, the confirmation of a partnership that continues to make history in world Dressage.
