The 4th Community of Madrid Cup officially begins its countdown today
The 4th Madrid Community Show Jumping Cup will officially kick off today with the presentation of the competition at the LA RAZÓN headquarters. Just over two weeks before the competition begins, the event will bring together institutional representatives, athletes, and professionals from the equestrian sector to unveil an edition that will once again place Madrid at the heart of the national equestrian scene.
From June 19th to 21st, the RACE Club will host another edition of a competition that has experienced steady growth since its inception. Organized by the Madrid Equestrian Federation, with the support of the Community of Madrid and LA RAZÓN as the main sponsor, the competition has established itself as one of the most important events on the national show jumping calendar.
The presentation will begin today at 19:00 p.m. with remarks by Francisco Marhuenda, director of LA RAZÓN. The event will be hosted by Shelly Ramírez Pino and will feature Blanca Hernández, head of equestrian activities at the RACE Club, and Maya de la Joya Fernández Longoria, the face of this fourth edition.
Also speaking will be Antón Herreros, president of the Madrid Equestrian Federation; Alberto Tomé, director general of Sports of the Community of Madrid; and José Luis Martínez-Almeida, mayor of Madrid, who will be in charge of closing the event.
The Madrid Community Cup was launched in 2023 with the aim of bringing a major national competition back to the region. Since then, its growth has been evident, both in terms of sporting level and media coverage. Over its first three editions, the list of winners has included prominent names in Spanish equestrian sport such as Mariano Martínez Bastida, Pedro Fernando Mateos, and Ricardo Jurado, all winners of the Madrid Community Cup, while Ismael García Roque and Eduardo Álvarez Aznar have earned their place in the hall of fame of the LA RAZÓN Grand Prix.
The 2026 edition will once again feature its two flagship events. The LA RAZÓN Grand Prix will take place on Saturday, June 20, while the Madrid Community Cup, which will bring the competition to a close, will be held on Sunday.
Another major attraction of this edition will be the presence of Santiago Varela as course designer. Considered one of the most prestigious course designers in the world, the Spaniard will bring his experience from the Olympic Games, World Cup finals, and major international championships.
With a prize fund of 60.000 euros and free admission during the three days of competition, the Madrid Community Cup faces a new edition with the aim of continuing to grow and reaffirm its position among the most important national competitions in the country.
This afternoon's presentation will kick off a weekend that will once again bring together some of the best pairs in the country in Madrid.
