The CSN5* Ruta de la Cerdanya equestrian event kicked off its fourth week of competition this Friday. The main event of the day, the Trofeo Central Hípica, was a 1,45m time trial with no jump-off, which brought together 17 horse-and-rider combinations at the Puigcerdà arena.
Among the day's stars was Alex Codina, who delivered a solid performance with London Blue to secure second place. The pair completed the course without faults, stopping the clock at 65,17 seconds, less than a second shy of victory.
The victory went to Laura Roquet with Qori Puigroq, also with a clean run and a time of 64,59 seconds, while the Catalan rider herself also took third place with Princess Puigroq, after stopping the clock at 65,29 seconds.
Codina and London Blue's performance confirms the excellent form of the pair, capable of combining speed and consistency in a competition where a tenth of a second made all the difference. On a course where only four participants managed to finish without penalties, the Catalan rider once again demonstrated the strong connection he shares with his mare.
Alex Codina also took part with Espoir de la Chesnee, with whom he finished in eighth position, after completing the course with one knockdown.
The fourth week of the Cerdanya Route could not have started better for Codina and London Blue, who added a new result and face the following days of the competition with confidence.
