Spain maintains its individual chances in Aachen after finishing fourteenth in the team event
Spain finished in fourteenth position on the second day of the 2026 Aachen Show Jumping World Championship, a result that leaves the national team out of the team final, although Spanish participation continues in the individual section.
This Thursday's session was decisive in determining the ten nations that would advance in the fight for the team medals. Spain faced the event with the aim of recovering positions after the first qualifier, but the results of its four combinations did not allow it to reach the cut-off necessary to be in the final.
The course once again demanded precision and consistency from the participants, in a competition where each knockdown had a direct impact on a very tight leaderboard. The Spanish team accumulated penalties throughout the day and finished in fourteenth place, outside the top ten positions that granted access to the next round of the team competition.
With this result, Spain's team participation in the Aachen Show Jumping World Championships comes to an end. The competition, however, continues for the riders who have managed to stay within the places that allow them to advance individually.
From now on, Spanish attention focuses precisely on that individual classification. The World Championship continues selecting the best partnerships after the initial tests, before reaching the final that will decide the individual medals.
Spain thus brings its team campaign in Aachen to a close in fourteenth position, while still maintaining representation and chances of progressing further in the individual competition.
