The Royal Spanish Equestrian Federation, hereinafter \u201cRFHE\u201d, provided a Information Note<\/strong> about the requirement for horses to be registered in a studbook<\/a>.<\/p>\n

It was the Delegated Commission of the General Assembly of the body that approved the modification<\/strong> dated 16 January 2023 of the rule Article 128 of the General Regulations<\/a><\/strong>, mentioning a series of conditions necessary for obtaining the horse licence.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The intention is to standardise criteria with other territories, so it will be compulsory from 1 January 2024<\/strong> that any horse must be registered in the Stud Book to obtain the National Horse Licence.<\/p>\n

Additionally, from 1st January to 31st December 2023, a transitional period was established <\/strong>for those who are not registered in any pedigree book of breeds belonging to the World Breeding Federation for Sport Horses<\/strong> (hereinafter, \u201cWBFSH<\/a>\u201d, nor in any Official Catalogue of Livestock Breeds of Spain<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n

Ponies must not fulfil such an obligation.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Those specimens of registered breeds with known origins must be registered in the Corresponding Studbook<\/strong>, whereas those lacking a race or origins must direct themselves to any of the current breeders' associations<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Once registered, they must contact the Regional Federation<\/strong> timed for that data to be incorporated into the licence.<\/p>\n
