Luis Fernando Larrazábal and Baroness, owned by LeeAnn Ablin, finished second in the $15,000 ProElite Grand Prix at the ESP Rita & Irish Flynn Memorial, held this past weekend at Wellington International.
The Venezuelan rider and the Westphalian mare completed the initial course without any faults and kept their score at zero in the jump-off. Their time of 38.573 seconds placed them in second place in a competition that was decided by the stopwatch.

For Baroness, this result is another milestone in the international career she is building alongside Larrazábal. The 11-year-old mare, a daughter of Balous Bellini, was named Horse of the Year at age seven and has since competed on various international stages, including the Bolivarian Games, the Central American and Caribbean Games, and competitions in Canada.
Baroness is part of LeeAnn Ablin’s stable in Wellington, a competitive project that began to take shape following the purchase of Coralina LS La Silla from Larrazábal in 2019. Since the spring of 2020, Ablin has been training with the Venezuelan rider.
Currently, his stable at San Francisco Stables consists of four horses: Baroness, Cenmietta PS, Tadewa PS, and All-In VDL Z. His work with Larrazábal encompasses both the training of competition horses and the development of younger horses, always tailoring the training to each horse’s individual characteristics.
Second place in the $15,000 ProElite Grand Prix marks another strong result for Baroness and Larrazábal in Wellington and continues the competition season for one of the leading mares in LeeAnn Ablin’s program.
